There's a whole currency whose only purpose is to buy clothes, which yield no status benefits. For example, there's a moped you can use to get around *fast*, which is really nice to use but almost immediately becomes obsolete since you can both fast travel and sprint and the game's "overworld" isn't that big. ![]() Unfortunately, many of them are underutilized. The game is chock-full of all sorts of cool little mechanics and features. It's not bad, but I'd have appreciated something more metal while genociding, er, most of the goblin species. It had kind of a Kingdom Hearts vibe to it. The music is a bit underwhelming, though. Neither side of the conflict is entirely in the right, and I appreciate that Jenn and Tristan start having doubts about what they're doing half way through. Every boss has its own personality, which shines through during the cutscenes and before combat. The goblin enemies are shown as actual people with ideals and fears. Unlike some players, I actually liked the plot. The dungeons themselves were less interesting, but I liked that there were side areas you could explore to go for additional loot. I like the sets of the mansion and town, although they felt extremely underutilized. You can dress them in all sorts of clothes you can buy in town - perhaps too many for the length of the game, even. ![]() The goblin designs are funny and the protagonists are adorable, despite the game's attempts to pass them off as arrogant teenagers. The animation goes hand in hand with the combat with how satisfying it feels. I liked the tag and assist mechanics too. But I still missed out on all sorts of builds! Even though I never used, for example, two-handed swords (the most common equipment type), the game never felt neither grindy nor too easy to me. I turned my Jenn into a nearly unkillable heavily armored tank that pulled herself around the combat scene using the electric hookshot, and my Tristan into a super fast ninja glass cannon using a combination of speed sneakers, knives and all-strength to deal massive damage to most enemies. The combat and progression are very satisfying, with many different move combinations that can be performed on enemies, equipment with different abilities and different ways to spec your two characters allowing for different playstyles and strategies.
